About Matty

Based out of Wisconsin, Matty Rangel has spent over 11 years in the service industry working a variety of roles, eventually combining his love for acting with his passion for being an asshole dive bar bartender.

In 2015, while pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming an actor, Matty accidentally fell into the service industry after randomly bussing tables for a friend one busy Friday night. The manager looked at him and said, “I should hire you.”
Matty replied, “How much ya paying?”

For the next five years, Matty went to school in the mornings, pursued theatre in the afternoons, and bartended at night. He eventually graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts… and then, one month later, the pandemic hit.

So, he kept bartending.

About a year into shutdown life, after closing the bar at 5 a.m. with Big Dick Door Man Diabetic Dan and Cadillac Josh Lekas, Matty got the urge to create again.

He loves bartending, but acting has always been his first true love. With some convincing from friends, he decided to give social media a shot. Knowing he needed a niche, Matty leaned into what he knew best: bartending.

The next morning — hungover as hell — he made a video with Dan and posted it.

Viral.

That creative itch? Scratched. Matty was hooked.

Several platforms, half a million followers, countless guest bartending appearances across the country, dozens of podcasts, tens of thousands of customers, late nights, laughs, and zero fucks later, Matty has become what fans affectionately call:

“The internet’s emotional support bartender.”

Bartending. Acting. Creating.

Living life with his best friends one sarcastic “fuck you” social media post at a time.
